Karina Synytsia
Karina Synytsia was born in Severodonetsk, Luhansk region, Ukraine. She lives and works in Kyiv. Synytsia is a visual artist working with painting and monumental techniques, including fresco and mural painting.
In her artistic practice, she explores landscapes and architecture as carriers of political memory, viewing space as a witness to historical events and social transformations. Her work focuses on themes of war, displacement, and the relationship between people and their environment, intertwining personal experience with broader social and ecological processes.
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including The Woman Question. 1550–2025 at the Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie. Her solo exhibition Welcome to Paradise was presented at Artsvit Gallery. Her works are also featured in the second edition of the Ukrainian section of the Secondary Archive, as well as in the archival projects The Sky Is Open. Voices From Ukraine and Ukraine Ablaze at Mala Gallery.
