Maria Kulikovska
Maria Kulikovska is a multimedia/hybrid artist, architect, actionist-performer, researcher, and lecturer born in 1988 in Kerch, Crimea Peninsula, Ukraine, holds master’s degrees in Architecture from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv, Ukraine, and in Fine Arts from Konstfack University in Stockholm, Sweden. Following the annexation of Crimea, she resided in Kyiv, Malmö/Stockholm, Linz, Austria, and Helsinki, Finland, amidst political upheaval.
Her work has been showcased globally, with exhibitions at prestigious venues such as Tyburn Gallery in London and Albertina Modern in Vienna. Kulikovska’s involvement extends beyond exhibitions; she’s a lecturer at various institutions worldwide.
Recognized for her contributions, Kulikovska has received nominations for esteemed awards and fellowships. Co-founder of the “Flowers of Democracy” art group and the “School of Political Performance” with Oleh Vinnichenko, Kulikovska remains dedicated to using her art as a form of activism and resistance despite challenges.
