An artistic residency in Hamburg. Udays + Spilne

The festival of modern Ukrainian culture, Ukrainian Days, and the online gallery of Ukrainian art Spilne Art organized an artistic residency in Hamburg. In August, three female artists, Ksenia Datsiuk, Olena Shtepura, and Daryna Mykytiuk, worked together in the Paulsenhaus gallery and created an exhibition in real time. Visitors have had an opportunity to observe the creation of the exhibition here and now because the present time is the only state in which all Ukrainians are now.

“Artists are joking that the best curator is an absent curator. I cannot technically be present at the residency in Hamburg, so the artists have maximum freedom. At first, I was worried about this, but now I see that such freedom gives a wider polyphony of ideas and a place for experimentation. The ideas and concept matured in the work process, and were born in the discussion. I am very interested in observing such a living study, and I am waiting for an unexpected result,” says Natalya Tkachenko

Also, the theme of the residency is closely related to the works of famous Ukrainian composers and writers, who are included in the program of the charity concert at the Elbe Philharmonic. The result of the work in the Paulsenhaus gallery will be the presentation of works of art.
